2. BUDDHA PUTAI (THE HAPPY BUDDHA)

China, 17th-18th century.
Gilded bronze with fragments of red colour pigments and lacquer.
Smiling Buddha crowned and seated with rosary in his right hand.
Height 18 cm (7"). Weight 2,49 kg.
Sealed (probably later), minor dents, surface wear as expected on a bronze of this age, base probably missing.
Provenance: Nils Nessim Collection (Stockholm), the 1950:s, label marked as "Ming".
