Black painted Nikon F with heavy patina and matching Nikkor-P 2.5/105mm no.172697 (original strap, cap, hood and filter) used for many years by it's second owner, photographer Chas Gerretsen (born 1943) who received the camera from Dana Stone in Danang, South Vietnam in 1968 (American Vietnam combat photographer who disappeared 1970 in Cambodia). 'DANA STONE UPI SAIGON' still engraved on base plate. With 4 original signed prints and letters of confirmation: (1) General Augusto Pinochet 1973 (printed 1983, 20.2 x 25.2cm, for his most famous picture Gerretsen used this Nikon F and the 105mm Nikkor), (2) John Travolta (printed 1982, 20.2 x 25.2cm), (3) Chas Gerretsen with 4 Nikon cameras around his neck (27.8 x 36.4cm), (4) Chas Gerretsen with his cameras (Santiago 1973, 27.8 x 36.4cm). The Leica M4 and M4-M owned by Gerretsen are also offered in this auction.
