"Early English Brewster stereoscope on a magnificent cast-iron stand, mahogany viewer for 17,5x9cm cards and slides, brass fittings, sliding box focusing, pivoting mirror and back, brass telescope tripod, the elaborate cast-iron base shows three Graces Aglaia, Thalia and Euphrosyne with flowers and ears of corn, some applications are made of brass. Since the typical manufacturer's label is missing, it is not certain whether the viewer was produced by Knight's in London or if it’s an exact copy of the 1854 'Cosmorama' - all details such as the 'Gothic' front panel and the brass fittings as well as the all over experience are completely identical with the 'Cosmorama'. The Stereoscope is in excellent original and unrestored condition. A beautiful and immaculate viewer from the heyday of stereo enthusiasm! Height: 50cm.
