one of the most sophisticated prototypes from Leica museum, a square metal telescopic hood for Summar, brass construction with an ingenious folding mechanism, the height is 25mm folded and 33mm unfolded, the angle of the blades ensures that the rangefinder window blocking is only minimal, exactly this hood can be seen in L. Netopil 'Prototype Leica' on pages 49-51 and also in W. Albert 'Geburtstage der Leitz-Foto-Konstruktionen ab 1927' on page 58 - according to Albert this special hood is one of only a few items where Dr. Ernst Leitz himself was involved in the design
