In approx.1952 and parallel to the M3 test series, Leitz was already working on an improved screw-mount camera with a large brightline finder incorporated into the rangefinder-system. These test cameras, which look very similar to the IIIg from the outside, are completely different models. There were only four of these cameras produced, serial numbers 650000 to 650003. The camera here has an internal frame-counter and also a different topplate and viewfinder to the production model. Published by Lager and van Hasbroeck. It is in near mint and fully operating condition with a Elmar 3.5/5cm red scale lens without serial number.
